Impact Theory and Finance
In a last decade we were witnesses of giant financial failures, or human tragedies (9-11) that result in huge financial collapses. That leads to a very intensive study in the area of mathematical modeling of those financial disasters. Trying to find some physical adequacy to those financial events brought me to the idea that it might be something in common between those events and the theory of impact in mechanics (or dynamics), specifically if we are looking into the field of stochastic mechanics (dynamics). So, it is an open question from my point of view: is it bluff or it is something that worth our attention and further research?
